Since we don't have a Q&A page up yet, there's no problem at all with asking here!

Currently, there are no specific restrictions on species regarding non-humanoid forms. However, we would like to ask that you consider two things before choosing to use one.

First, we'd like to clarify the aims of allowing species swaps. The option mostly exists to explore the effect on the psyche, and how it would divorce them from their canon/previous persona. In the case of a more purely physical change, such as turning a human into a centaur, the difference in play would likely be negligible and mostly a cosmetic difference, since they start the game considering the body they wake up in their "default", until they get memories back. So, under these circumstances, we're not quite sure how this would allow you to differently explore the character enough to make the change worth making.

Second, you will need to consider feasibility! Dragons might be cool, but if your character is the size of a house and has trouble fitting into the dorm, that would be a playability issue. Likewise, a mermaid that needs to stay in the bathtub all day would similarly have locomotion problems and be unable to make it to the arena, and in that case we would have to ask for revisions to be made to that decision. Please keep playability in mind when choosing a species.

I hope that covers all bases of the original question, and if you have further questions, please feel free to ask.
